Adrian Colbert misses second straight practice November 09, 2018 12:46 AM

The San Francisco 49ers find themselves in a bit of a pickle on defense. The team released their Thursday practice participation report Nick Mullens Jersey , and for the second straight day, free safety Adrian Colbert did not practice. Colbert is dealing with a hamstring injury, and his status is a big question mark for Sunday.D.J. Reed has been listed as the team’s backup free safety, even though Jimmie Ward has experience at the position. Ward played played free safety last year, but was moved to cornerback this season. Kyle Shanahan will likely offer some clues as to Sunday’s plan, but this is a big position to watch.Malcolm Smith remains sidelined with his own hamstring injury, missing a second straight practice. He was listed as doubtful last week, and it seems unlikely he plays this week. That would likely mean Elijah Lee starts at WILL, next to Fred Warner. The team signed linebacker Terence Garvin, but he is likely simply in the key reserve role at all three linebacker spots with Brock Coyle on injured reserve. The right guard position remains a real problem as well. Mike Person and Joshua Garnett both were listed as DNPs. Najee Toran has been getting first team RG snaps this week, but Cam Inman tweeted that Person looked a little more possible than Garnett for Sunday. If Person and Garnett are inactive, it seems like Toran would start at right guard and Matt Tobin would be the primary reserve.Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin remains out with his quadricep injury. Given the speed element to his game Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey , it would not surprise me to see him inactive this Sunday. That means keep an eye out for Dante Pettis. Here’s the full Thursday practice participation report.DNP: S Adrian Colbert (hamstring), G Joshua Garnett (toe), WR Marquise Goodwin (quadricep), G Mike Person (foot), LB Malcolm Smith (hamstring)Limited: OL Erik Magnuson (hamstring), S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder), CB K’Waun Williams (rib), CB Ahkello Witherspoon (ankle)Full: T Joe Staley (not injury related)Trent Taylor listed as doubtful on 49ers final injury report, Matt Breida is a game-time decision The San Francisco 49ers released their final injury report in anticipation to their Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers and Dante Pettis isn’t the only wide receiver to miss the primetime matchup. Trent Taylor will also be out for the game. The beat writers have also reported that Taylor will be out. Richie James had a few looks in Week 5, but with Taylor now sidelined, he has an opportunity to show some things and develop a role with the team. Matt Breida (shoulder/ankle), who many thought would not make the trip to Green Bay was listed as questionable and remains a game-time decision according to Kyle Shanahan. If put in the game Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey , I’d imagine Breida would get limited snaps while Alfred Morris would be playing a bit more just so the 49ers don’t aggravate anything. The 49ers do have until Monday afternoon to make a decision on the roster for Monday Night, that will give them some time to evaluate the injuries and make some decisions.Meanwhile with the Green Bay Packers, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was not listed on the practice report at all. Rodgers suffered a knee injury in Week 1 that has been lingering since. Wide receivers Randall Cobb (hamstring) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) are both game-time decisions, so Rodgers has even less people to throw to. 49ers injury reportOut: WR Dante Pettis (knee), Doubtful: WR Trent Taylor (back)Questionable:RB Matt Breida (shoulder, ankle), WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee), TE George Kittle (knee), G Mike Person (knee), C Weston Richburg (knee), T Joe Staley (knee) Nick Mullens 49ers Jersey , CB K’Waun Williams (illness)Packers injury reportQuestionable: CB Jaire Alexander (groin), WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring), CB Bashaud Breeland (hamstring), T Bryan Bulaga (knee), WR Randall Cobb (hamstring), G Justin McCray (shoulder), T Jason Spriggs (ankle), S Jermaine Whitehead (back)
